We wanted to find a way to help streamline the authoring workflow for Community Admins / Managers who needed to publish the same piece of content into multiple rooms. Previously, you would have to duplicate the content and publish it into the rooms - one by one.  

Multi Room Publishing now allows authors who have the correct publishing abilities in rooms, to be able to select multiple rooms at once to publish content directly from the authoring workflow on the platform.

This means increased efficiency for community admins / managers and a reduction of repetitive tasks. Furthermore, with the earlier release of our Content Privacy work this has helped with better content control as the author can now see clearly and easily which rooms the content can be published into straight from the user interface.

What are the main changes

You will now see in the authoring workflow pages underneath ‘Rooms’ the drop down which allows the user to select more than one room:


Once the user has selected all of the rooms and hits Publish Now, the piece of content will be published in all of the rooms simultaneously. 

The rooms in which a user can view and publish into under the rooms drop down menu will depend on two things:

  1. The authoring abilities a user has on a per room basis - ie. they will need to be added / invited to the room as a Contributor. Please see the table breakdown below for guidance:

2. The visibility controls on the piece of content - please see the table below for easy reference of the Privacy Control - Public, Signed-in only and Private:

What happens next

We will be rolling out this update across all Zapnito Communities from next week. You won’t need to do anything however, we do advise that you let your content authors know that this change is coming.
