Cost justification for the board
Hi. I am personally completely sold on the concept of a community led growth and have been promoting it to the senior exec in the business. I am being asked to put together some justification. I wonder if anyone else that has had to do this has any tips they can share or and stats / analysis that I might be able to utilise such as any reference materials perhaps.
We only have about 100 paying members (Business leaders / owners) at the moment but we gain one then lose one and it goes like that so growth has been slower than we want. I believe we need to offer more valued engagement between meetings and a community platform strikes me as the ideal solution. A central place for our like minded members to connect and share leadership questions and solutions. That bit all makes sense but I have no previous experience of a community platform to hang any form of key performance indicators on to. Any stats on how other organisations have been able to grow their community by implementing a platform, how engagement increased etc etc.
Any one have anything useful I can read would be very helpful. Thank you.
Duncan
Looking, watching...commenting!
After todays breakfast workshop (thanks for hosting) on The Pathways To Community Led-Growth - I thought it was time to post a community question on here.
We had a great conversations on our table around engagement. There was an understand and respect that a high number of community users gain value from reading/viewing content and don't need to engage with it (comment, share, like etc.)Could be wrong (my notes were pretty messy) but I think someone said 75% of users on a community are "lookers" rather than contributors. If your community smashes this statistic (in a good way) - what did you do?Thanks. Rob (no longer in the 75% club)
Content Planning Frameworks
Hi there- I am starting to map out a content schedule for new community we are launching (hopefully on Zapnito) and would love to hear from the folks here any frameworks- planning templates you use and value. Cheers
Matt
Best practice in surveying community members
How is everyone surveying their community members? From questions, to surveying platforms, how the surveys are sent (prompts on the platform vs emails vs other ideas..?).
Would be very curious about any best practices emerging, or even just trial experiences and results (failures welcome too!)
Your Guide to PLG and Community—It’s Way More Than Launching a Slack Group (article) - I am interested in people's views
This is a great article from OpenView (VC). https://openviewpartners.com/blog/your-guide-to-plg-and-community-its-way-more-than-launching-a-slack-group/
Interested in people's thoughts about Kyle's five recommendations. #5 might not be realistic for mid-sized companies?
1. Amplify community creators
2. Connect users with their peers
3. Be active within existing communities
4. Build a content community
5. Acquire an established community
