People Search
The search will scan a user's name, title, company and bio, and return any users that match the search criteria.
You can dig deeper by filtering by Person and Organisation-type users, as well as by a user's custom field selections.
Content Search
The search will scan the title, intro, body content and user name of the author of the content.
You can choose to order content search results in one of three ways:
- By Relevance
- By Published date (oldest first)
- By Published date (newest first)
When searching by relevance, the search results are ordered by a so-called 'strictness score'.
- A strictness score of 0 = shows many results but not particularly relevant ones.
- A strictness score of 100 = only shows exact matches but very few results.
- We use a strictness score of 60 which shows relevant results, where the exact keyword is in the title but also content where the exact keyword might be in the body text but not in the title.
You can dig deeper by filtering by content type (post/video/document), channels and rooms that the content has been added to, as well as badges and tags that have been added to the content.
