In many cases you may have a need to remove a member’s access to your community, but you’ll want to retain their content or contributions. To meet this need, we have created some additional member account statuses and these have been added to the Member Settings Page, giving the Community Manager / Admin more control. Clicking on the action menu (3 dots next to a member’s name) and selecting “change account status, or simply clicking on their current status will now open up this new slide over window:

‘Enabled’ Account Status

Use case: once a member has registered to your Zapnito Community, they are able to access the content, discussions and network with each other.

The majority of your members will have the “Enabled” status, which will give them access to the community, limited to the abilities within their group.

‘Disable’ Account Status

Use case: a member who’s subscription has lapsed and you want to remove their account access without removing them or their contributions from the community.

This will prevent the member from logging into their Zapnito Community, however their profile and all previous contributions and interactions will remain visible to other enabled members.

‘Block’ Account Status

Use case: an employee leaves your company however, you wish to retain their previous contributions, content and interactions.

This new “blocked” status will allow you to retain the previous contributions and interactions of a member, while hiding their profile and removing their community access.

All of the above account status can be changed with ease, so you will be able to temporarily disable or block a member and reactivate their account at any time.

‘Block & Schedule for Deletion’ Account Status

Finally, with this account status option you will be able to delete users, but with the addition of blocking them as well, which will prevent them from registering again and with the same email address.

We strongly advise caution with this option; deleting a user permanently and irretrievably removes them, and all activity associated with them from both your community and all Zapnito analytics. This is ideal in the case of spam accounts or in cases where you are confident there is no activity associated with the profile which needs to be retained.

We are very pleased to be able to put more control over managing your members and their access to your Zapnito Community in your hands. We will be rolling this change out in the next week or so.
