Maggie has been actively involved in advancing the understanding and adoption of community management as a discipline since 2009, specializing in association communities. She’s been a member of the Community Roundtable, helped create a private community management certification program, and worked with dozens of organizations to launch and manage new communities, craft community strategy, develop trainings for staff, volunteers and members, and provide consulting on best practices for growing vibrant online communities.

A trained journalist, I worked at a number of healthcare publishers over the course of 10 years before joining Contentive as Content Director in 2017. In February 2020 I became Community Development Director for Contentive's HRD portfolio. I suppose my areas of expertise lie in content marketing and content strategy; community growth and engagement.

My academic roots are in economics and mathematics and my professional roots are in financial analysis. My background has given me a wealth of experience in research, data interpretation and analysis. I have a close attention to detail, innate curiosity and ‘big picture’ awareness that I use to support the rest of the Zapnito team in truly understanding our customers' businesses.
