Discussion in Secret room
Hi Lowell,
I'm adding this discussion to a secret room which only the 2 of us are members of to test if you receive a notification about it. If you do, please forward me the email you receive.
Thanks,
Alice
Hey Leon!
Hi @Leon Prather, CTS - AVIXA ,
As discussed (see what I did there?) in our call yesterday, I've switched on Discussions in this room in your sandbox, and I've made sure that the admin group all have the correct abilities to be able to create and take part in Discussions, as well as edit the settings to crate new types, which you can do here.
When you're creating your type, you need to select a title, a brief explanation and an icon to jazz it up, then finally you can choose if you want the "like" function to be an upvote (heart) or a like (upward arrow)- for this example, I've gone with upvote. To create a Discussion you can go to the Discussions tab in the room and click the "start a conversation" button on the right, or you can go to the general Discussions page which I've added to your sidebar.
When you create the Discussion you select the type, the room it needs to sit in, give it a title and then add the copy.
Once created, you can like and reply, as well as threading your replies and liking them - WOOHOO!
The author of the Discussion as well as any site admins can edit and delete it at any time, and the author of any replies will be able to edit the replies (but not delete them. Not yet anyhow).
I hope this is helpful, have a play and let me know if you have any questions.
