Engagement and knowledge sharing are vital for growth within our customer communities. Members often find it challenging to stay informed about relevant updates, track discussions, and interact with content in real time.

The Activity Feed’s purpose and key benefits are

  • Enhance user engagement with the platform by providing a curated and highly personalised feed.
  • Help users stay informed about relevant activities in the community in real-time.

With the Activity Feed, your members can:

  • Get real-time updates on discussions, events, and posts shared by fellow members.
  • Receive articles, discussions, and events according to what channels, rooms and experts they follow.
  • Comment and engage in meaningful discussions.
  • React to updates with likes to show support.
  • Receive important community updates highlighted by the Community Manager.

What are some of the key features of the Activity Feed

Your Activity Feed: What to expect and how to enable it

The Activity Feed is designed to enhance engagement within your Zapnito community by delivering a personalised, real-time stream of relevant updates. Initially, the feed will be powered by the Channels, Rooms and Users your members subscribe to, with further enhancements planned - so look out for future updates.

What will appear in your Activity Feed

Content Updates: you’ll see new content updates from

  • Users you follow
  • Rooms you are watching
  • Channels you are subscribed to

User Interactions: stay informed when

  • A user follows you
  • Someone likes your post, video, document, or discussion
  • A discussion you’re involved in receives a reply
  • Someone responds directly to a discussion you started
  • A followed user starts a discussion in a room you’re watching

How to Enable the Activity Feed in Your Community

Setting up the Activity Feed is a simple two-step process:

Step 1: Enable ‘Activity Feed - Events’

First, we activate the ‘Activity Feed - Events’ feature flag. This ensures past interactions and updates are collated so that when the feed goes live, it’s already populated. We recommend enabling this at least one to two weeks in advance.

Step 2: Activate and Display the Activity Feed

Once events are collected, enable the ‘Activity Feed’ feature flag. Our team will guide you in previewing the feed before adding it to your sidebar menu for members to access.

Please note: contact our team on support@zapnito.com and they will enable these for you.

We’d Love Your Feedback!

We hope you find the Activity Feed valuable in keeping your community engaged and informed. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below or contact our support team at support@zapnito.com.

This is great to see, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in action within our community. I was about to ask if you had activated it in the Zapnito Community, and then I noticed it was there in the sidebar menu. I look forward to testing how my choices and actions will influence the contents of the feed.

Regarding that, I noticed in your screenshot of the new feed in this article the mention of "Topics." I imagine this new feature will play a key role in shaping the content that appears in the feed. I'm therefore curious as to when we can expect to see this feature?

Thanks @Charles Andrew Revkin for your feedback. We are very excited by this release too! The screen shot is a design wireframe so what it could look like with the Topics feature integrated (in future releases). We will continue to iterate on this product release so will keep you updated as we go along. We don't have any concrete timelines to share at the moment but will certainly share more when we do.

Looping in @Alice Bramley-Dymond so that she can keep you closely updated on this too. I hope that helps!
