Duncan MacRae is the Director, Editorial Strategy and Publishing Policy for Wolters Kluwer, one of the world’s foremost publishers of medical, nursing and allied health journals. In this role, Duncan oversees the development and implementation of editorial policies followed by journals in the Lippincott and Medknow imprints. In addition, he works with a portfolio of editorial service providers to assist our society partners in achieving their strategic goals.
Prior to joining Wolters Kluwer Health, Duncan established a 15-year career, providing editorial management for the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, PriMed and the International Congress of Neuropathology.
I'm a tech marketing executive with 33 years experience marketing B2B SaaS companies in most global markets, ranging from self-serve payments and social media platforms to Enterprise CRM and Digital Marketing. I'm fascinated by the theory and practice what it takes to create and lead a category in technology and have been lucky enough to work for category defining businesses in Apps, CRM, Marketing, Payments and Accounting businesses. My passions are family, most sports but especially golf & road biking.

I am honoured to serve as the President & CEO of Generate Canada (formerly The Natural Step Canada). We work closely with problem-solvers from business, academia, civil society, and all levels of government to generate solutions to the most complex challenges at the nexus of environment, economy, and society. We do this in partnership with the Smart Prosperity Institute.
Collectively our core competencies are in research, public policy development and fostering deep collaboration on issues related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. We do much of this work through our Solution Spaces which currently include the Canada Plastics Pact, the Canadian Alliance for Net-Zero Agri-food (CANZA), Circular Economy Leadership Canada, the Energy Futures Lab, and the Nature Investment Hub.
